BETWEEN PLANETS
June 4th 2004 Reviewer: Andy Malt (Indigo)

Meow Meow - Cracked What are Meow Meow? Underneath it all, it's probably easiest to say that they're a west coast and Beach Boys influenced band. It's just all the stuff on top that throws that description out of whack. With some warped experimentation and the odd bit of country thrown in as well the band owe just as much to My Bloody Valentine and The Flaming Lips. Strangeness is abound and I like it!

Meow Meow - Cracked After what were said to be storming shows at the South by Southwest convention, Meow Meow are launching themselves on an unsuspecting UK with this debut single. Meow Meow's sound is a schizophrenic mix of countrified shoegazing, fuzzy lo-fi and psychedelically psychotic explosions. They combine Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, House of Love, Mojave 3 and Jesus & Mary Chain along with occasional blasts of intense electronic chaos. While that may sound like a complete mess Meow Meow manage to pull it all together.
